Meaning Of The RSS Prarthana (Prayer) - In Shri Guruji's words
Forever I bow to thee, O Loving Motherland! O Motherland of us Hindus, Thou hast brought me up in happiness. May my life, O great and blessed Holy Land, be laid down in Thy Cause. I bow to Thee again and again.
We the children of the Hindu Nation bow to Thee in reverence, O Almighty God. We have girded up our loins to carry on Thy work. Give us Thy holy blessings for its fulfillment. O Lord! Grant us such might as no power on earth can ever challenge, such purity of character as would command the respect of the whole world and such knowledge as would make easy the thorny path that we have voluntarily chosen.
May we be inspired with the spirit of stern heroism, that is sole and ultimate means of attaining the highest spiritual bliss with the greatest temporal prosperity. May intense and everlasting devotion to our ideal ever enthuse our hearts. May our victorious organised power of action, by Thy Grace, be wholly capable of protecting our dharma and leading this nation of ours to the highest pinnacle of glory.
।। भारत माता की जय ।।

Unquoted Reality -- II

Many people have considered RSS as only a hinduvadi sangathan having nothing to do with society and the nation. It has only participated in anti-nationalist and anti-secular activities. But only a few know about the noble works RSS have been doing, its primarily because people in it oath to serve the society and the mother India, not to take the political advantage or public goodwill.

Well my dear friends RSS was established in 1925 by Dr.
Keshava Baliram Hedgewar, a well educated person devoted for the goods of society only. All the pracharaks and Sangh-pramukhs are well educated persons even more than what people can conceive of. They aren't lured by the name of lord, they are driven by their own will to do some good and noble. Some were scientists, some were doctors or engineers.

RSS has participated in many relief activities during natural calamities. For instance, in the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, Indian newsmagazine Outlook's reporter Saba Naqvi Bhaumik reported that:

"Literally within minutes RSS volunteers were at the scenes of distress. Across Gujarat, the (RSS) cadres were the saviors. Even as the state machinery went comatose in the first two days after the quake, the cadre-based machinery of the Sangh fanned out throughout the state. Approximately 35,000 RSS members in uniform were pressed into service."

– Saba Naqvi Bhaumik, Outlook, Feb 12, 2001

"Not Aware of IAS Institue's RSS Connection: Deoband Cleric"

'I was not aware that Sankalp, the coaching institute located in Jhandewalan (New Delhi), was run by the RSS,' Waseem-ur Rehman, who cleared the Civil Services Examination 2007, 31, told IANS. 'I had only gone to them for the interview test coaching and they held four-five classes and a mock interview,' he said. Rehman said he chose Sankalp as it cost him only Rs.501.

"This is an old tradition in the RSS. To be the first at any disaster strike: floods, cyclone, drought and now quake. In Kutch, too, the RSS was the first to reach the affected areas. At Anjar, a town in ruins, the RSS was present much before the Army and took the lead in finding survivors and fishing out the dead."

– K. Srinivas, District collector of Ahmedabad

India-Today, reported in its Feb. 12, 2001 issue that

"It is conceded by even their worst detractors that the RSS has been in the forefront of the non- official rescue and relief (operations). This has led to an upsurge of goodwill for the Sangh"

– India Today

Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has lavished praise on veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Nanaji Deshmukh and the organization started by him, the Deendayal Research Institute (an organization of the Sangh Parivar), for giving the nation the litigation-free model of resolving disputes he had devised. The President said "In Chitrakoot, I met Nanaji Deshmukh and his team members belonging to the Deendayal Research Institute (DRI). DRI is a unique institution developing and implementing a village development model which is most suited for India," the president said. "Apart from all the development activities, the institute is facilitating a cohesive conflict free society. As a result of this, I understand that the 80 villages around Chitrakoot are almost litigation-free". "The villagers have unanimously decided that no dispute will find its way to the court. The differences will be sorted out amicably in the village itself. The reason given by Nanaji Deshmukh is that if the people fight among each other, they have no time for development," the President added. "I consider that this model may be propagated in many parts of the country by societal organisations, judicial organisations and government," Kalam contended.

Unquoted Reality

Param Pujya Shri GuruJi
Q: Don’t you think that a solution to the Hindu – Muslim problem must be found especially at this critical moment when the country is faced with dangers from all sides?

A: So far as the work for the country is concerned, I do not differentiate between Hindus and Muslims. But how do people look at this problem? Probably these days everyone has become a political animal. Everyone thinks that he would be able to push forward his claims or privileges for his own community by exploiting political situations. If this could be remedied and the people became political from a patriotic, -- only patriotic point of view, then all troubles will end in no time.

These were the words said by Guru Ji, second Sarsangh Chalak.

In a judgment the Supreme Court of India ruled that "no precise meaning can be ascribed to the terms 'Hindu', 'Hindutva' and 'Hinduism'; and no meaning in the abstract can confine it to the narrow limits of religion alone, excluding the content of Indian culture and heritage." The Court also ruled that "Ordinarily, Hindutva is understood as a way of life or a state of mind and is not to be equated with or understood as religious Hindu fundamentalism. A Hindu may embrace a non-Hindu religion without ceasing to be a Hindu and since the Hindu is disposed to think synthetically and to regard other forms of worship, strange gods and divergent doctrines as inadequate rather than wrong or objectionable, he tends to believe that the highest divine powers complement each other for the well-being of the world and mankind."
